Woof in the Woods

Harbour City Bears' camping trip, Woof in the Woods, is back!

Join us for a long weekend of bears in the bush at Yarralen Retreat, a beautiful 40-acre bush retreat at Yarrahapinni on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Tucked beneath Mt Yarrahapinni and surrounded by national parks, Yarralen is a very different camping experience from our previous home. There are grassy campsites beneath the trees, bush tracks to explore, a heated magnesium pool, an infrared sauna, a yoga deck, campfires, peacocks wandering around the property and plenty of places to sit back, relax and enjoy the company of other bears.

It’s nearly exactly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, so we’ve invited our friends from the north along too.

Of course, we'll have plenty of our usual Woof in the Woods activities!

Accommodation Options

Yarralen gives us several ways to stay, whether you want to sleep under the stars or have something a little more comfortable.

Camping

The main campground has grassy camping areas beneath tall trees and is suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and other campers.

The main campground has access to the fully equipped camp kitchen, hot showers, flushing toilets and electricity. There are plenty of shady areas and space to spread out.

There is also a more secluded campground further into the property, but 4WD access is required, and this area does not have easy access to the main camp kitchen and amenities.

Cabins and Rooms

If camping isn't your thing, there are a number of accommodation options around the property. The accommodations all come with bedding, so you can just turn up.

Yarralen has several cosy bush cottages, as well as caravans, self-contained studios and a two-bedroom home.

The accommodation is scattered around the property, giving you the chance to enjoy the bush retreat without having to sleep in a tent.

The House

Sleeps maximum 5. The house has two bedrooms, as well as a full kitchen, bathroom, verandah and BBQ. The house is powered.

The Caravans

Both caravans sleep 3 each, with a queen bed and a single bed in each caravan. The caravans are powered.

The Studios

There are two studios- one sleeps 3, the other sleeps 2. Both studios have a living/dining area, air conditioning, a kitchenette and bathroom. The studios are fully powered.

The Cottages

The cottages sleep 2 in each, and are off-grid, with battery-power available for low power devices.
