BEARS PUB CRAWL 

CALLING ALL BEAR BARDS, BREW KNIGHTS & ALE MAGES! 

Gather your party for a legendary quest through the enchanted laneways and hidden alehouses of Olde Marrickville! 

On Saturday 18 April, at 11:30am we set forth from the gates of The General Gordon, to break bread and feast on the meats of Marrickville before embarking on a merry crawl through backstreet breweries and taverns. Expect strange concoctions and local lore, while the brews flow like enchanted potions. 

Our final destination is the fabled gay bar of the realm, Miss Wolf!  There the radiant show wenches shall perform their dazzling arts. Further imbibing encouraged, as it will make her appear more comely! Shenanigans guaranteed. 

Dress in your finest bear tavern garb and bring your thirst and your charisma modifier. It will be an afternoon of revelry, and bear beer quaffing. 

PLEASE RSVP to let us know you will be part of our valiant company, so we may forewarn the tavern wenches and brewmasters the number in our merry band.

Our Itinerary!

11:30am to 1pm General Gordon Hotel

Address: 20 Swain St, Sydenham NSW 2044, Opposite Sydenham Station

Catch the train or Metro to Sydenham Station and the hotel is next door. Great place for lunch to start the day.

Come early to grab a table in the bar or in the courtyard for lunch.

1:15-2:00 pm (The Batch) Marrickville Brewery and Taproom

Address: 22 Sydenham Rd, Marrickville NSW 2204.

Grab a Portuguese burger or fana at the food truck.

Then a 10 minute walk to Bob Hawke.

2:15-3:00 pm The Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre,

Address: 8-12 Sydney St, Marrickville NSW 2204.

Try their signature prawn toast if you can. Lunch option but would have to book well in advance for the restaurant area but seating upstairs and in the back in the Bob Hawke memorial room as well as out front and at the bar.

5 minute walk to:

3:15-3:45pm Philter Brewing

Then either a 10 minute walk to Marrickville Hotel or those wanting a less strenuous option can catch the 423 or 426 bus on Victoria Road around the corner from Sydenham Road and get off on the second stop out front of Marrickville Hotel.

A very mixed hotel with $12 Spritzes. Plus you can order food at the bar from Pho PhD.

5 minute walk across to the other side of the road

4:00-5:00 pm The Montague Hotel

Ending at 5:00-6:15pm at Miss Wolf

Enjoy Marrickville’s own little gay bar all through the night. There is a great Vietnamese restaurant next door for those wanting dinner.
