The Bears Picnic

The Bears Picnic is fast approaching! It's this Sunday from 11am at Sydney Park!

As you've noticed it's currently raining torrentially. On the day the weather's forecast to be beautiful- clear and sunny. The park may still be too muddy for a picnic however. We'll assess it on Friday afternoon, and if it's too boggy, we'll relocate to the rooftop at Townie. If it's still raining, we'll postpone.

Please keep an eye on socials and your email, we'll let you know Friday evening what's happening.

If the park is usable:

We're planning to picnic on the lawns near the Kiosk- but if it's too crowded or otherwise unsuitable, we'll move north towards the hill. There's toilet facilities nearby, but there aren't BBQs super close, so stick to picnic foods, unless you want to trek to use one of the public BBQs. The BBQs are first-come-first-served, so you'll have to share with the general public.

Come via public transport, as there's limited parking. The park is close to St Peters station, and King Street.

What you should bring:

• A picnic blanket or similar to sit on
• Sun protection - sunscreen and a hat
• Food - sandwiches, salads, snacks
• Soft drinks - no alcohol is allowed in Sydney Park

What you SHOULDN'T bring:

• Alcoholic drinks
• Marquees, tents, or other structures
• Speakers or other noisemakers
• Food that needs to be cooked - we can't guarantee you can get one of the public BBQs
• Your own BBQ- they're not permitted in Sydney Park

Where will we meet?

We can't reserve any areas of the park, but we're planning to meet on the lawn in front of the Kiosk. Here's a Google Maps link, and an Apple Maps link.

Spring has sprung, and what better way to enjoy some sunshine than by having a picnic with all your HCB friends!

Round up your mates, pack what you need and come for an afternoon of fun in the sun with your friends.

Picnic blanket? Check. Some nibbles? Check. Beverages and water? Check.

Bring a ball or frisbee for some friendly play or a camping chair to relax and soak up the sun.

Afterwards we can stroll up King Street to the Townie for Sunday Bears!
